The NARA catchment area is wholly within the Central Conservation Area of Cheltenham, in fact it is part of one of the largest conservation areas in the country. Its status as a conservation area requires that any new development is subject to more rigorous scrutiny by planning departments.

- There is an application to build a bungalow in the rear garden of 43 Francis Street adjacent to 26 Hermitage Street. This follows refusal of a house to be built in the same spot – view plans.
